I was wondering why the gov't is going to bail out the financial home lenders and banks, instead of the homeowners that lost their homes to these people.

Why can't they just pay off the homes of those who were foreclosed on, and set up a better mortgage plan where the homeowners pay back the gov't like a mortgage payment, instead of just giving the money to the institutions and also allowing them to keep those homes they foreclosed on?

People keep their homes, and the money is paid back with a fixed rate mortgage to the gov't. Then everyone is happy. I would feel much better to have my tax money spent this way then given to the richest institutions in the fricken world.

Just a thought

This is the Gonzalez family just before the crossed the border illegally into the US. They were starving in Mexico and wanted to come to this country for a chance. Juan, the father, came here and offered to do roofing jobs for less money then the going rate, so he can get a job to feed his family. Now they are living here just waiting for Maria to give birth to her baby, so they can't be deported back to Mexico.

This is the Stewart family on vacation 3 years ago. A happy family that had a small house and 2 cars. John - the father - was a roofer. Last year he was told to take a pay cut or he would lose his job. Three months later he was fired outright and replaced by people who would do the roofing for less money. Since then they lost their house due to forclosure and both their cars were repoed. The Stewarts now both work in retail making half the money John used to make alone. They are now collecting food stamps and get a box of food from the church every week. They moved into a 2 bedroom trailer.

So I have been honestly thinking about running for Mayor of Apopka. I figure the worst that can happen is I lose, but shake up some new ideas. Maybe put a monkeywrench in the politics as usual platforms that we always see. Sure I have a lot of skeleton's in my closet, but none that I am embarrassed to admit to. I've been thinking of a few solutions for the problems in Apopka - that the Apopka Mayor can actually handle. As we all know, the mayor of Apopka can't pull our troops from Iraq, can't change abortion legislation and can't change federal laws.

Here's my plan on how to handle the growing number of homeless and the large illegal alien numbers in Apopka. Arrest the illegals on the job and at home - this will be a lot easier for someone from Apopka who wants to do something, because every resident knows where the illegals live and work lol - and force the businesses that hired them to put a homeless person on their job. Also force the landlords that housed these illegals to now house a homeless family in their place. Homeless and illegal problems solved.

Schools and Eductaion. Although most money is state and federal, what I could do as Apopka Mayor is ensure the schools and surrounding areas are safe. Make sure there are an adequate number of school buses, and entice grade A teachers to continue to teach in our schools.

I will not threaten citizens who deserve a property tax break with cutting services like police and fire. I would take a pay cut and get rid of my entire staff before I cut 1 position from these organizations! I will also ensure our First Responders have adequate funding and are properly trained to handle all emergencies.

Traffic is a huge problem in Downtown Apopka. Unfortunately there isn't any room towiden or build anymore roads downtown. What I can do is offer an incentive for car pooling, riding the bus and attempt to bring a private sector taxi company or car service into Apopka. This can ease the burden on the traffic at peak hours.

I will also support a Non-Profit pick-up service for the elderly and handicapped to take them shopping and back and forth to the doctor as needed.

Another organization that will really help our community is a service to give rides to people who are intoxicated, at a fee ofcourse, to take them home instead of them driving. A large problem in our community is the fact that unless you drive or have a designated driver drive you home, there is no other way to get home if you stay in one of our great recreational establishments until they are closed. This service can increase patrons into these Apopka clubs, bowling alleys, bars etc... knowing they will always have a safe ride home.

There are more actual plans of mine that i haven't written here. I am doing something different them the other politicians are doing. I am not just saying I have a plan that will do this and this and this, but I am actually telling you the plan. That's a little different then the rest. If I would have know what some of our politicians actual plans were before they were elected, I might not have voted for them :) A 3 year old has a plan on how he will clean his room. A lot of the time the plan is to wait it out until you do it. He can promise all the good things as to how his room will look after his plan, but his plan in reality is - to do nothing and let you get so fed up that you do it :)

Well just chewin the fat here. Still thinking if I should even try and run. See you in Niovember lol

The most common arguement made on behalf of illegals in this country is that we are a nation of immigrants.

My response : Yep we are a nation of immigrants - legal ones.
