MIAMI (AP) -- Pat Riley's worst season as coach of the Miami Heat will be his last. The Hall of Famer has resigned as coach but remains team president. Assistant coach Erik Spoelstra will replace Riley on the Heat bench, making the 37-year-old the youngest current coach in the NBA. Miami finished the season with the NBA's poorest record (15-67) and, by far, the worst of Riley's 25-year career.

Will you miss Coach Riley? Think the young new coach is the best way to go?

I have watched Pat Riley on the side lines for years. For some he is the only coach they have ever known. He is one of the last true basketball coaches left, one of the greatest coaches ever. It is sad that he is going out on such a terrible season. A coach like that should go out on top! So yes I will miss coach Riley. No this new coach is to young has no REAL coaching experience. THIS IS GOING TO BE A DISASTER.

I don't know about that. Both Riley like Phil Jackson only really won when the rosters were stacked with superstars. Riley won with the 80's Lakers that had Magic and Worthy and Scott and Kareem. When he was in NY he had teams that had maybe equal talent to the Bulls but never got them over that hump. Then he bailed on the Knicks via Fax and went to Miami where with Alonzo and a good team couldn't get to the finals. Wasn't until he brought Shaq over to play with Wade that he got that title. We see he couldn't rebuild a young team.

Ditto with Jackson. He only won cause he Jordan/Pippen/Grant or Rodman and in LA had Shaq and Kobe.

NO doubt he's a great coach but vastly over-rated. I think guys like Popvich and D'Antoni have gotten more out of less talented teams and thus better coaches.
