You've got to admit that the headline bites! John McCain not sure how many homes he owns!
The headline is everywhere this morning. McCain was asked while in New Mexico how many homes he and his wife Cindy own. McCain's response was he wasn't sure, his staff would have to get back to the reporter. Turns out it is at least 4 according to McCain's staff - maybe more. Some reports put the number as high as 7!
Isn't this a question that McCain should be able to answer? Does his inability to answer it reek of elitist, high-end living? More importantly how badly will this hurt his image? You can be sure the Democrats are salivating over this one....

Yea... Gee.. I thought that Obama not having an answer to when life begins was bad.... what was I thinking!

McCain unable to remember how many properties he owns SURELY makes him out of touch and unable to stand up and be President!

(Now someone go ask a few Democrats that question.... matter of fact, lets ask how many sweetheart mortgage deals McCain received like say Chris Dodd or the Clintons...)

Seriously... all this is going to do is illustrate how desperate the left is to slow McCain down..

Heres the dirty little secret.. McCain isn't climbing faster... Obama is FREE FALLING! Taking shots at McCain won't help. The left has to stop Obama's fall..

Hey Media BOY , how many homes has Obama used in the past two years ? He currently has leases on more homes than McCain owns but you found a “need” to call an Obama add a news segment so YOU could repeat it ....can I ask about YOUR motivation ?
Just because Obama rents his 4 vacation homes 3 business homes and only owns 1 actual house does not make him more “down to earth” than any one els ...for crying out loud at least try to show some decorum before giving “free add space” to whatever Obama is selling today!

...good luck with that Abunai , the one thing Obama can't “beat” is his past, his character and his personality ! He will be his own undoing because he can not survive close scrutiny ...his “cheap shots” will blow up in his face , as he has never “walked a mile in the common mans shoes” his little campaign of smoke and deception will soon start to unravel.

How many of those are rental or investment properties that a property manager handles?? If that's the case, I can understand not being sure. he has a few other things on his mind right now.

I can't believe that question would make headlines..BUT THEN AGAIN YOU HAVE DEMOCRAPS..OWING MUCH MORE THAN HOMES......only under aliases......how convenient........LET's ask OBAMA the same question......oh wait KENYA, ETHIOPIA.....America...who knows even in Iraq right next to his brother OSAMA.......tsk tsk tsk....

How is the number of homes that the McCains own relevant to his qualifications to be President? With a wife that is so wealthy and also a business person, it would be practically a full-time job for John McCain to monitor her investments and daily business activities.

Both of them have obviously paid their dues and financial disclosures show that John McCain donated heavily to charities in the past.

He may be out of touch with the average person to some extent, but aren't most individuals in upper level management positions? The alternative would be to elect a man or woman off of the street who has little, if any experience at or near the level of the Presidency. It is a difficult, complex position requiring much thought and leaving very little time for personal pursuits. Most of the decisions of a president are not simple.

McCain isn't out of touch with anybody, that just the left tossing it against the wall to see if it sticks or not.

I do like the reply from the Obama camp:

Does Obama, who just got back from his tropical vacation in Hawaii, who made 4 million in income, and just finished purchasign a million dollar home from a convicted fellon REALLY want to go down this road?

Once again, liberals have not figured out that they don't have control of the media anymore, and EVERYTHING they do is going to blow up in their face!

Candy... you are right, it should not have even made big news, but what you have is the left DESPERATE to turn the light away from themselves as Obama and his campaign now have had to admitt that he LIED about his vote history on abortion! Instead of making McCain look bad, Obama now just looks desperate, and the convention just isn't going to help him. I bet he gets a smaller bounce than his European trip gave him!

Quick question here, how many homes do the Clintons own? I know Bush probably has a few himself but here's a fact you probably don't know. The Clintons bought their multi million dollar mansion in New York for some odd reason. Their mortgage just happens to be the same amount they charge the government on lease for the secret service to live on site. Short story here is we tax payers are paying their mortgage. That coupled with the fact of why she (I mean they) picked New York burns my butt.

I Liked the way Obama picked up the ball and ran with it..

We KNOW that Obama can remember how many houses HE owns..When you get one through the MOB ( Rezko ) you BETTER Damn well remember it because THEY will...

Now,,if ONLY he could JUST remember WHICH of the 57 States his house is in he'd be doing JUST fine....LMAO..

Cale,

Here's an interesting take on it. When did owning home become an indicator that you're out of touch or elite. Read the editorial below and see who's worse, Mccain for legaling buying home, or Obama for ... well, you read and see what he's done.

1. They met in 1990. Obama was a student at Harvard Law School and got an unsolicited job offer from Rezko, then a low-income housing developer in Chicago. Obama turned it down.

2. Obama took a job in 1993 with a small Chicago law firm, Davis Miner Barnhill, that represents developers -- primarily not-for-profit groups -- building low-income housing with government funds.

3. One of the firm's not-for-profit clients -- the Woodlawn Preservation and Investment Corp., co-founded by Obama's then-boss Allison Davis -- was partners with Rezko's company in a 1995 deal to convert an abandoned nursing home at 61st and Drexel into low-income apartments. Altogether, Obama spent 32 hours on the project, according to the firm. Only five hours of that came after Rezko and

4. In 1995, Obama began campaigning for a seat in the Illinois Senate. Among his earliest supporters: Rezko. Two Rezko companies donated a total of $2,000. Obama was elected in 1996 -- representing a district that included 11 of Rezko's 30 low-income housing projects.

5. Rezko's low-income housing empire began crumbling in 2001, when his company stopped making mortgage payments on the old nursing home that had been converted into apartments. The state foreclosed on the building -- which was in Obama's Illinois Senate district.

6. In 2003, Obama announced he was running for the U.S. Senate, and Rezko -- a member of his campaign finance committee -- held a lavish fund-raiser June 27, 2003, at his Wilmette mansion.

7. A few months after Obama became a U.S. senator, he and Rezko's wife, Rita, bought adjacent pieces of property from a doctor in Chicago's Kenwood neighborhood -- a deal that has dogged Obama the last two years. The doctor sold the mansion to Obama for $1.65 million -- $300,000 below the asking price. Rezko's wife paid full price -- $625,000 -- for the adjacent vacant lot. The deals closed in June 2005. Six months later, Obama paid Rezko's wife $104,500 for a strip of her land, so he could have a bigger yard. At the time, it had been widely reported that Tony Rezko was under federal investigation. Questioned later about the timing of the Rezko deal, Obama called it "boneheaded" because people might think the Rezkos had done him a favor.

8. Eight months later -- in October 2006 -- Rezko was indicted on charges he solicited kickbacks from companies seeking state pension business under his friend Gov. Blagojevich. Federal prosecutors maintain that $10,000 from the alleged kickback scheme was donated to Obama's run for the U.S. Senate. Obama has given the money to charity.

Cale,
Maybe he thought this was not a very important question and did not care to answer it. I mean I do not care how many homes he owns. It is his business no one Else's. If you are only going to vote for a man who has more or less homes than you think he should then you should not vote. There are more important things to worry about than how many homes McCain owns. Like the economy and the war and our veterans.

Hey Cale,
It's getting pretty obvious that there is some kind of difference between Fox (the network) and Fox35 on air staff's philosophies. Many people here are refugees from the constant hammering of leftist agendas by the CNN/ABC/MSNBC, etc networks. Generally Fox seems to be the "alternative" to those who espouse liberal dogma. Yet, here in the blogs, it is pretty obvious that many on air staffers have a very definite slant to the left. So my question is, why stay here at Fox35? Wouldn't it be staying true to left wing journalism ideals to move to an station/network that more openly advocates the Clinton/Obama endeavors to convert America to a Socialist/Facist regime?

are not they all elitist in DC ??

you got to be wealthy to run for office in the first place.

Mccain had a head start in being born into money.
Obama is now wealthy too.

Harsh? Perhaps a bit, but no more so than this-

"Does his inability to answer it reek of elitist, high-end living?"

Does that read like polite conversation?

Anyway, I would assert that this is not really a legitimate question at all, but rather a statement slamming McCain. By stating it this way, it is easier to profess inquisitive journalism rather than political advocacy.

The liberal (no pun) use of ! and ? is also a dead giveaway as to the true objective.

So, ban me.

So let me get this straight:

If you are a former Vietnam vet who served with honor, came home, struggled, then re-married a woman who is loaded, and continued to serve the people at the best capacity you can, even though you are rich, own multiple homes, etc. then that means you are not in touch with the American people?

REALLY? Personally, I think that a terrible thing to say about Sen. KERRY!!!

OH WAIT! Are you guys talking about McCain or something? I can't tell.. Only difference I guess is POLITICAL PARTY!!!

What a bunch of propaganda hacks!!

Speaking of hacks! Hey candy.. just to let you know.. your friend YBSRobin has started her mess again... I see you have not been associated with her recently.. Had to cut paste her ridiculous antics again.

No I'm not going to ban you...I'd rather give you the time to go back and read ALL of the blogs I've posted. Every single one of them is on this site. Read them. Then tell me if I only pick on Republicans.

Also understand that we're suppose to drive debates on the blogs - that's why I wrote that statement you so believe is a personal vendetta against McCain. It worked - you and many others are debating the story and, in part, the comment.

You my friend have absolutely no clue as to what I believe or my colleagues. You can gloat that you do - but you're just grasping at thin air. For every comment I get from right wingers like you blasting me as being a Democrat, I have a e-mail from a liberal ripping me for supporting the supposed Fox News Channel agenda.

Well that clears it up ! Us “rightwingers” as YOU chose to openly call us are balanced out by private email from your left centered friends criticizing your job at a company that shares a name and nothing els with FNC....using the term right winger tells volumes about where you actually stand and in a fair and open debate would be an open invitation for me to call you a “knee jerk liberal”
