A lot of talk in our afternoon news meeting today (Wednesday, July 23) about public sentiment maybe changing somewhat towards Casey Anthony and especially her mother, Cindy.

There's no getting around that this is a terrible story...a tragedy perhaps. After her testimony in court yesterday and the sudden discovery of a voice mail tip that little Kaley was seen at the airport back on July 2, are you not as sympathetic to Cindy? Are maybe you're even more heartbroken for her - as a mother and a grandmother in the midst of a miserable situation.

At first I WAS sympathetic toward Cindy.

How is it that she put up the myspace page called cayleeismissing on something like July 3rd--days before the cops were even notified? It's just one thing after another with them...

I do feel very bad for her. We don't know what happened to Caylee but everyone has an opinion. The grandmother really believes she is alive. I don't know if the grandfather believes it anymore though.

I just hope there is closure soon.

So far the only thing I know for sure is that Cindy is pretty hot. I guess that will work against her if she actually did do something to her daughter and ends up in jail for it.

This is a very sad case. But I have to question the mother and grandmothers motives. Neither one is saying where the little girl is. The grandmother says one thing and then the following day either changes it or adds more to it. Why does she not tell everything that she knows? Why the run around with the media? The mother of the the little girl still will not talk to police which makes me think, 1. she knows she is dead and where she is buried. Or 2. She knows where she is being held and does not think she is in any danger. Her attorney told Greta Last night about the girl being spotted at OIA last night, but the police had not even been told about that. WHY? This is the weirdest case I have ever seen!!! Too many holes in their stories.

I agree with 80's, ChinkyC and BornToBeWild (as I don't know what comments are pending) however, I would like to remain optimistic, but it's not looking too good. I am sure the investigators know more than what is being told and until it's close to being over, I am afraid we will be in the dark as well. How any one could hurt a little child is beyond me. More than likely the mother or someone close to the mother lost control in an alcoholic or drug related rage and murdered this little girl. And now the family is covering for whoever it may be. As ChinkyC stated, I pray there will be closure quickly.

Well, if someone is needed to spank her mom until she tells the truth, I volunteer.

As for the rest of this story, in all honesty, I wish the news would take a week off from it.

If things quieted down, and her mom wasn't getting all of this attention, I think she'd cough up what she knew to get more.

Thank goodness I'm not the only one jimbo...

Is the press and public outcry the grandparents intentions?
Maybe Cindy doesn't want the kid to be raised in the environment the grandparents are demanding...

It is a he said she said story, but the dogs smelled decomp I thought in 2 places...
I'm still kinda on the fence, but feel It is none of my business...

My opinion might be harsh, but I think that whole family is banding together and knows Exactly where that little girl is...and if she's dead or alive. Its a shame that they waste taxpayer dollars with their drama. Frankly I've had enough and I'm ready for the regular news to come back. I wish the media would get it...there really has not been any real developments here. I think the family is doing this whole act in order to keep the heat off them and it no longer makes for a good news story honestly. I turn the channel now. I'm tired of hearing the grandmother being so crass...they are looking for that child the best way they know how--by asking the person who KNOWS EXACTLY what happened to her--the mom.

It seems to me that the family(grandmother Cindy) and the lawyer are blaming the police for the fact that Caylee is still missing. They arrested the mother too soon, They didn't notify the media soon enough that she was missing, the hotline is hard to get through to..... How about you hold the person that should have have been moving heaven & earth to find her daughter accountable, hmmm? The one who didn't report it soon enough, the one who still isn't being honest about where & when she actually disappeared?
The family & the lawyer keep saying that Casey knows something (we know that)but can't tell the police. Why? These are the people who are trying to find out where she is. How have the police become the enemy to the family? The only person who can provide information is in custody. She CHOOSES not to help.

Not really, I was watching Fox news this morning and an interesting question was posted. Why aren't they there at the jail begging their daughter to tell them the truth. Nothing makes sense in this missing child case and it seems that the family is doing everything they can to impede it. I know that they have been putting out flyers and T-Shirts and such, but.........somthing just feels off. I feel bad for Caylee for being caught up in this disaster wherever she may be and hopefully God is with her in this.

I was just wondering what steps have been taken to verify the existance of this mysterious babysitter? It was reported that the grandmother said that this individual had been babysitting her for years (Caylee is almost 3 yrs)but she's never met her. That seems strange, but ok.

How, where & when did Casey meet her? Did Casey ever meet any of her family, friends, neighbors? In all the "years" this person was babysitting, did Casey ever enter the space where her daughter would be spending her time? How often did this person watch her? Daily, weekly? Do the grandparents have a physical description? I haven't heard one. If the Grandparents think police aren't doing enough why don't they get this info out?

I think the whole situation is sad, there is more to the story than the grandparents and the mom are telling. Put the mother in gen pop and let the other inmates have at her. She'll be singing in no time. No mother would ever discover her child missing and wait such an extended period of time to report it. Something is not right and the mother needs to face up to whatever happened, who knows, it may have been an unfortunate accident and we are wasting taxpayer dollars and police man hours for no good reason.

AMEN TO anothervoice. I was born at night but not last night. THIS FAMILY IS NUTS!!! Want to know what happened to Caylee? She's not on any plane to Atlanta. This family has an idea, and Casey definitly knows. If it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck...IT'S A DUCK PEOPLE!!

I have recently been reading on different blogs a THEORY that PERHAPS Casey left her daughter in the car while she went & did whatever she does during her day and Caylee died from the heat. This seems a very plausable theory to me. We hear about this happening on a pretty regular basis. If this is what happened then a 22 year old that is concerned about how SHE will be preceived, treated or punished as a result may have tried to cover it up by concocting a story of a kidnapping/abduction.
If this theory(or some similar negligence)is correct, and attorney is aware of this what are his legal avenues. It kind of fits the cryptic things he has been saying. The sooner it comes out the better for all concerned.

Cindy Anthony knows something, she is helping her daughter cover something.. She was repeating herself on the witness stand. I have not slept or ate. I am only drinking water. And the said thing is Cindy's Husband does not know that she knows something,I could be wrong
but again i might be. again im just saying Cindy knows something and it will eat at her until she cant take it anymore!!!

I think dje689 has a very interesting comment...certainly a good point at least. It does seem like no single angle in this story has any normalcy to it...

Cindy is desperate. On Caylee's my space page she is advising Casey's friends NOT talk to media. She knows that Casey's reputation as a thief and a lyre will stop donantions from coming in. If she is willing to sale her home to have her daughter released i think she would be willing to spend donation money on it in spite of her saying she wouldn't. As far as donations, i don't think the detective that searched the car is donating to find Caylee. He would however probably spend money to get his hands on Casey.

Here's something that confuses me though with the witness that stated they saw Caylee at the airport on July 2nd. According to how it was reported on the news, I get the idea that Caylee wasn't scared nor felt threatened if that was her! If she spoke with this person and told them her name and carried on some kind of conversation or communication, then I can't help but wonder why she was comfortable with the situation or wasn't acting like she was scared! There is more then meets the eye and ears here folks!

What in the world is a 2 yr old doing with a my space page, any parent that would make a my space page for a 2 yr old is an unfit parent
Cindy is covering something up for her daughter
She is as guilty as Casey is....

As I have stated in other blogs; I am deeply troubled by the rush to judgement once again. I feel at times that we are in a 3rd war country where are not innocent until proven quilty. The Anthony family is exactly what I expect from an American family, but they are critized for it. I can only pray that the bloggers who decide to rush to negative judgement never find themselves in a similar situation.

Are we to believe a two year homicide detective when he says there is overwelming evidence found in the car or are we to believe Casey who will do nothing but tell another lie. Of course we all want Caylee to be alive and healthy, but the evidence just isn't saying she is. As far as the sightings go, that is very common in a case like this because our hearts and our minds make us want to hold on to the hope that baby Caylee is still alive. Sorry if this offends people but baby killers make me angry ! I have nothing but sympothy for the grandparents.

The questions still remain...What reason would this babysitter, if it was, have to take Caylee anyway? This little gal got herself in something illegal...speaking of! I couldn't belief how many people they found with the same full name spread out along the East Coast! That within itself is weird! There is in fact something very fishy here! Things just aren't adding up and the puzzle is missing way too many pieces.

After hearing the 911 calls last night, I beleive that the grandparents have no idea where Caylee is or what has happened to her. I think they suspect, but don't want to beleive, their grandaughter is dead so they continue looking for her.
The alternative is to admit that she is gone & their daughter is involved in someway. What a horrible choice. So until Casey comes clean or Caylee's remains are discovered, they live in desperate hope. I can't even imagine being in this position. It's awful enough when a stranger is resposible, but when it is your own family member, your only daughter......
I have no idea how all the people involved are going to resolve this. Casey is the key, how long will she allow this to continue? She is prolonging the inevitable and causing greater pain to her family.

From my perspective, I think Caylee Anthony is Dead. I think that Casey Anthony has something to do with her death. Cindy Anthony told the truth when she said it smelled like a dead body in the car. I believe after that statement she was given the truth from her daughter and thats why she changed the story to rotten pizza to help protect her daughter.I watch the news to keep up with the story and I think they need to get it moving because we all know something is wrong. They need to do Dna testing on the carpet in the trunk immediately, remove the concrete slab and do some digging. They need to ask whoeverCasey borrowed a shovel from when she borrowed it and see if the dates come close to the time the concrete was poured in the backyard. Also last night on the news the revealed the audio of the phone call from the little girl saying mommy, daddy. That voice sounds like a doll. I think they should gather her dolls to see if she has one that matches the voice, because my little girl has a doll that says the same phrase. They need to check phone records to see if she really received a phone call from someone who has the telephone number she gave them. Maybe they should get forensic files on this case because they solve almost everything. If I was investigating this case it would be solved. Casey Anthony is guilty and we all know it. Theres no hiding it especially when you dont love your child enough to report that she's missing until a month later. She's not trying to help find her daughter because she know she is dead. Maybe she feels like, why should she help police uncover

Ok, this may upset some and for that I apologize in advance.....I'm sorry if it does but here we go....First of all I have posted numerous times on different blogs, but here is what I am now starting to wonder. Does anyone know if there was any type of life insurance policies on Caylee? All I keep hearing is that the faily is in major debt and thats why they are ahving trouble posting bond for their daughter. Was this something they did for the attention, donations, life insurance, etc.?? If they are is so much debt, they could be doing crazier stuff than any of us could ever begin to imagine. All I know is that they are all LIARS and their stories are constantly changing. And the only victim here is Caylee. Personally, I don't think they will find her alive and that breaks my heart beyond words. What will come out is that both the mother and grandmother are in connection. They are both guilty. And the grandmother is a media BLEEP, among other things.
