Tampa Bay Rays. More people taking notice?

What a story baseball in Tampa/St. Pete is! The Rays, as I write this, have the best record in baseball and lead the mighty Boston Red Sox by a game-and-a-half in the American League's East Division.

 

We're showing more highlights of the Rays during the 11:00pm newscast. Question is: how many more of you are paying attention to the Rays? Anybody planning on making the drive to Tropicana Field simply because they're playing such great baseball?

It seems that most people living in Central florida are Transplants from another State/City,and already have their favorite sports teams written in stone.Im not sure you'll be finding anyone jumping on the Tampa Bay Ray's "bandwagon" any time soon.

30,000 fans last night. My sons and i went to a friends house in Seminole and we all went to the Rays game.
It seems a kinds of people, "fans", are jumping on the bandwagon.
Just like the Buccaneers of the mid 90's. No one would even speak of being a fan in public until they started having winning seasons.

Just so you know. My boys play baseball and we have been going to Devil Rays games for years.

I HATE BANDWAGONS!!! Especially from the media.

I have typically taken my family to one or two games a year to see the Rays in Tampa. It is exciting to see these underdogs turning the baseball world upside down! We've done two games this year thus far and will probably take another one in soon.

Sold out last night. My sons and I were in a suite behind home plate.

It doesn't seem as if this is a "sports town".All the stations in this area including Fox have a hard time hyping sports events.It doesn't matter how good a team is doing,sports in general is a tough sell in Central Florida.
