How about $125 a barrel for oil? Well known oilman T. Boone Pickens says it'll happen and he's predicting prices to surge further too. Are you kidding me? Pretty soon none of us will have a job! I guess we can thank the surging demand we hear so much about, a lack of production increase, the terrible value of the U.S. dollar (everytime it goes down, oil goes up) and speculators.

And I put most of the blame on the tree-hugging liberals who have blocked every attempt to drill ANWR and the Gulf. Had we started doing that 10 years ago we would be indpendent by now and not having to rely on others for our fuel....so, if you love gas prices, thank a Democrat.

How high will it go? What is it going to take before this country absolutely implodes? People won't be able to AFFORD to go to work! How can someone feed their family on the paltry wages of Florida, put gas in their vehicles, pay their mortgages, buy medicine, cover emergencies... No wonder so many people are stealing! As I have said before in previous blogs, this situation our country is in will turn normal, law abiding citizens into criminals! People are being stomped on, pushed into corners and trapped with no way out!

If we can put space stations in the space, we damn well are smart enough to get off oil.
Oil is still a fraction of what it is in Europe. If it gets high enough, maybe someone will finally get smart enough to make cars run without the stuff.
Our cities should be connected with rails, and the city traffic reduced significantly with commuter rails. Subways are fun and efficient in some cities.
Are we so stupid that we will wait until the country comes to a grinding halt?
Even if we were drilling and had the oil, the oil companies would still be @!#$#$^% the public!

The oil and gas prices get higher and we pay more at the pump; meanwhile, the top guy gets an 18% pay increase! That is sad! Along with the hurricane tax relief and back to school tax relief we should have a month of gas tax relief!!!!

Wrong PeagasusWing.. Europe has been paying high prices for generations, and adjusted for inflation we are still lower.
Subways are fun? I invite you to go ride the subway in Osaka Japan during rush hour where special men are in place to physically shove and cram the cars!

Yes... our liberal and enviromental nuts are stupid enough to wait until the situation controls us instead of taking action early on.

We do it for defending the nation, we did it for Iraq, we did it with not building any new capacity to refine since the 70s while watching our population grow.

Procrastination! The American way!

The one thing about all of this that I thought funny was Bush's statement, when asked about rising gasoline prices, " American's use too much gas ", then he chuckled. I recall some film footage of an off-shore Bush family fishing trip in Maine, I believe that the boat had three 235 hp. Mercury outboards. Do you wonder which Americans use to much gas ? I don't, and chuckled as I thought : " Bush you're an @SS !"

We DO have the technology,
have for YEARS but the oil companies BUY OUT the inventor so they DON'T lose their PROFITS.

The "Moony" Carborator (?) which supposedly got 100 miles to the gallon, was bought out.

A Florida man "invented" a car to run on water, too costly for proto type to "mass produce."

I saw a video of a man searching for a cure for a type of cancer ( using sea water) and discovered seawater is combustible therefore maybe it can be used in lieu of gas.

Yes, we DO have the knowledge
but "Big Brother" doesn't WANT us to have it because THEY would lose too much $$$$$$.

OR, they haven't figured out HOW they can manipulate
for PROFIT!

Meb452m ..George W is so out of touch with the american people..I dont think he even cares what happens to our country as long as he is making money hand over foot.. Its because of these conservative hacks in Washington that gas has gotten so out of control..Instead of doing something.. all they do is hold meetings...big deal..so they grill a few of the oil companies and then they shake their heads... in the mean time there are people out here that now have to decide whether to feed thier family or to buy more gas.. what a sad state of affairs we are in..Thanks George W... you moron!!

hey kisshank this country has been under democratic control for the last 50 years dont play the bull@#$% conservative or bush card, no entity could screw this country up as bad as every one says it is in 8 years sorry try again flamer, hence no social security reform(quit giving it to illegals to start with)we have become a nanny state country loaded with government giveaways as an incentive not to work and depend on the government to rescue you from every situation, everyone thinks they are entitled to something for free instead of going out and making their own way in this world,Have a nice day!

You are right, hway, the banks want a bailout, the oil companies want subsidies, and companies want us to pay them to move here!
Our government is giving away too much money to people that don't need to be asking for it.

Those pesky Democrats, in spite of valiant efforts by Republicans, have without assistance ruined our nation. And I am a three year old child with excellent computer skills....

I did not mean to imply that the pesky democrats alone have ruined our country, there is plenty of blame to go around on both sides of the isle for the condition our country and economy at the present time,by the way our country is not ruined we just need to make some adjustments,I will try to make my point again, our government has been under democratic control for the last 50 years you cannot blame 50 years of bad decisions and growing problems on an 8 year repulican run whitehouse,if you do, continue your SpongeBob therapy as soon as you graduate run for office you'll be a shoe in!SCREW THE CARIBOU DRILL ALASKA!

The best thing to do now is to start a price war within the oil companies but gathering the nation to agree on one thing was only possible in the 1700's. So we'er screwed, what next? Oh thats right everything being transported by anything fuel driven will be hiked in price as well. No recession more like depression to me, the one you cant take zoloft for.

I cant wait for oil to deplete for ever. I played this game once "StarCraft" and I had used up all the gas on the map and oh boy did those aliens give me a slappin' or what. There were zombies and monsters all over my empire. Sounds apocolyptic...

I love how we are putting money into alternative fuel but nothing alternative is being created, just alternative lies and debates.

KISSHANK, I hope this doesn't burst your bubble, but I voted for Bush twice. I still agree with a good bit of his policy, but this last year and a half will most likely cost him any and all respect that I once had for him. People often make jokes to ease tension, some of his are quite funny, this time it was ill considered and he didn't pull it off.

Gee... we take a hit at Bush for fishing with a boat with 2 outboards and not a peep about the boat that was taking their picture? Hey how about the shot of the Clintons romping around in Walter Cronkite's boat with the giant inboard! Or maybe Gore who flys on a private jet to a country then asks to be taken to the speaking engagement in a "green" fashion! The man with how large of a home?

The Kennedys' who call for windmills everywhere EXCEPT their backyard...

Either way, the temperature has not risen in the last 8 years so I guess the global warming is outdated, and actually once again we have people starting to switch gears AGAIN and talk of the global freeze! Can't wait for Gores next movie that tells me about the blizzards and whiteouts in the Arizona desert and ice jams in our rivers. STOP using compact floursents! Your gonna freeze us all to death!
(LOL actually gives a whole new meaning to the mecury falling!!)

Speaking of profits, you blind puppet Neo-cons always leave out the part about bothe the BUsh and Chaney familes being in the OIL business. It's just pure coincidenc that gas prices went to hell and poor old George has not made a thin dime from all this. Why don't we take up a collection for the poor guy.

speaking of profits Bruno_Duh!_magnificent, us neo-cons understand business,(BIG OIL)profits are calculated over the whole world not just U.S. consumption assjack, the clintons own more oil futures than Busch and Cheney put together, this will only make sense to idiots like you if you only knew what oil futures actually consist of,Busch Cheney or Big Oil do not have control over oil prices it is your flamer wallstreet future stock traders that control the oil prices, because flaming idiot liberals like yourself refuse to let us drill our own oil or build new refineries and then BLEEP about oil prices, let us drill the gulf flamers, the chinese are already 90 miles off our coast courtesy cuba and venezuela SCREW THE CARIBOU DRILL ALASKA!
