The Orlando Magic blew another big-time lead at home - and lost to the New Jersey Nets Wednesday night. The game featured the return of two-time former Magic Head Coach Brian Hill.

Hill is, once again, a top assistant for the Nets. And while he's not the head coach, I gotta think there was sweet revenge in beating his old team...perhaps playing a large role in out-coaching his replacement, Stan Van Gundy. Think Hill being on the other bench helped the Nets come back on the Magic?

One more thing...On New Year's Eve I had Brian Hill as my seatmate as we flew from Newark to Orlando. He had just wrapped up a practice with the Nets - and was headed back to Orlando and his home for a few days before the game. Hill couldn't have been a nicer guy. We talked quite a bit about what happened last season...and Brian made it very clear he wishes he was still in Orlando.

How many people in this town really care? A few thousand tops? If it went to a vote tomorrow, folks here would gladly wave bye bye to the Magic instead of footing the 500 million dollar arena bill. Sorry fans, but not only do we not care, but we'd love to see the Magic move to Nebraska........

You really think people would like to see the team move to Nebraska? Have the Magic done something to make people hate them? Obviously you do, and that's fine, based on your response to a Magic blog that has nothing to do with a new arena or the team moving.

"Have the Magic done something to make people hate them?"
Well, we can start with plundering our pockets for a new arena.

Don't your elected leaders share in the hate you have though? They've been just as vocal for a new arena as the team.

You are correct, of course. They can afford to be vocal, after all it's taxpayers money they are spending to provide entertainment for a small number of residents. I'll blog the campaign contributions (it's public record) of a few of them so people can see how much $$$ DeVos and friends have stuffed into their pockets. What isn't public record are the buddy buddy deals that will come to them. If we had a decent State Attorney, we could check what went on outside the Sunshine Law while we're at it.

Oh, yea. Feel free to ban me. I strayed from the topic and the party line, and the Magic string pullers and their puppets don't like open critism. It's a static IP so it should be easy.
