This is a day for tears for all Floyd Heads like me. A great loss to musicians today when the announcement was made of Rick's passing! It has not yet been said what form of cancer it was that took this great artist away from us.
Rick Wright, founder of Pink Floyd was a great self-taught keyboard player appeared on the group's first album, The Piper at the Gates of Dawn, in 1967 alongside lead guitarist Syd Barrett, Roger Waters and Nick Mason. One of the BEST musicians, song writters, performer and entertainer that is already a big part of history and live on through all who has appreciated a great man! Rest in Peace My Brother!
I have been a Floyd fan since I was 10 years of age which would have made me a fan since the first album released! So what if I'm old...I know it and still ROCK ON with the best of them! I will always be one of their biggest fans till the day I pass on! So what can I say....I'm a proud FLOYD HEAD!!!
Please give a moment of silence for a great musician......................
MAY HE CONTINUE TO PLAY ON FOR THE ANGEL'S IN HEAVEN!

Yes that's right....FOX's own Jim Van Fleet performed at Leesburg Bike Fest! Along with him and his band on stage included an extra musician! A Little Drummer Boy with his own little RED drum set playing along with the big boys! There were lots of bikers there to enjoy all of the fest from local's to out of towners! Even Jim found those from North Carolina who is there each year! It would seem that Jim has made his mark with the bikers and everyone enjoyed the entertainment! GREAT JOB JIM!!!

There is always local talent within all areas! Some that are Cover bands, Tribute bands, Original bands, and some that even do a bit of everything! The shows they perform are all for you, the audience! There are many talents of different styles of music and are even known sometimes to go way out of their way just to give you a show, even in bad weather! The dedication of hard working musicians should give you the show you would enjoy but sometimes not! You see them in bars, playing for benefits, parties, special occations, festibles, fairs, events.....and so on!
It takes alot of work to getting equipment set up, sound check, quick action to replace or fix problems and everyone has their jobs to do within a certain time frame. Some are lucky and come equiped with their own roadies that do the work for them. Most bands become regulars in some places and are well known within the locals of the area. But a band isn't really a band without fans and people being around who enjoy the performances! Support Your Local Musicians!
Do you have a favorite Local Band(s) that you like to see performing on stage?
