There have been allot of famous people throughout our history books the have placed a permenant imprint on America and it's people!  People who set a big impact within our worlds are the very people that have earned to be remembered within everyone hearts, minds, and books!  We all have someone famous we look up too!

Do you ever wonder why some people excel in life while others seem to fade away? What makes one persons life more fulfilling that another.  What did these people do that made them great thinkers, achievers, leaders, writers and philanthropists?

What was it that made them persistent? Was it fear or reward? Somehow these great people left their imprint on the world that the majority of us cant or wont. This web site honors those alive and from the past who have had an impact on our lives, those few Heroes that make our live easier and less complicated.  A great American President, Inventor, Leader, Titans of Industry, Explorers, An American Hero!  Who Ever it may be…everyone has one!

Mine is Daniel Boone, an great American Pioneer, Trailblazer, Woodsman, Hunter, A Leader, and a great friend to all race and origins, everyone he met and made friends with he never looked at them from the outside but what was on the inside is what counted most!  He was the American Dream(er)!  A great Man I truly Admire greatly!

Who is yours and why?

Patton, the Battel of the Ardennes. Every American and British commanders suggested retreat to Eisenhower. Patton : said give me 24 hrs. and I can attack. Montgommery suggested falling back and preparing a strong counterpunch. Patton quiped back : I don't like paying for the same ground twice. The right man, at the right place, with the right tool can alter history.

George S. Patton ~ "Old Blood and Guts" himself, contrasts with historians' image of a brilliant military leader whose record also included some lack of personal control and outspoken behavior. Excellent choice Meb!

I thought this a good post Di, I was hoping you'd get some more comments. He'd made a comment on news reporters. I thought it pretty funny. Patton stated : The press knows as much about war as they do about fornicating. I thought it a shot at Ernie Pile who'd made the statement on entering Paris with the American troops. Pile said : That any GI that doesn't get laid tonight is a sissie ! Patton was right, somebody has to man the lines and stand watch at night.

Ernie Pile died on Mount Suribachi, Iwo Jimi. His death was attributed to a Japanese sniper. His comment on the American GI was one of the most offensive statements made by the press during the war, and to a religous man pretty offensive as well. By the time he got on the mountain there were plenty of discarded Japanese rifles lying around. Avenging Marine or avenging angel, one or both I have no doubt !
