Be careful Channy they will call you grumpy too. Then if that doesn't work they will pull out the old racist or hate monger card.

The nerve of calling us the bad people for wanting to hear the english language on an english site.....go to the spanish site...they seem to like you there.

I am not lazy, on the contrary, because of not being lazy and hard studies I speak five languages, and that has been a major benefit.. As for an English-Language site, there is no policy on this site to write in the English-Language only.. besides, why do US Citizens celebrate CINCO DE MAYO anyways?

LOL, Alexis. Did you say five languages?? - Way to go!! - LOL

Hey, Candy ~

We definitely need some "AZUCAR!" around here. I can see that for some of us, this is a bitter subject! Geez ...

You know, I had not thought about Celia Cruz in a long time. It's amazing how time goes by so quickly. This July will mark the 5th anniversary of her death.

Hey, 80s ~

What is the name of that song? Did Celia Cruz sing it?

The only song I can remember right now is "La vida es una tombola, tom, tom, tombola!" - ROFLOL

NEZE...you are too funny...I will give you all the AZUCAR you need.

Wow..80metal..you are right on....that was a powerful Poem which shame on me can't remember the person who wrote it during the Batista times in cuba. It was also in that movie which was directed and made by GEEESEE..brain blockage...anyways..you know what I am talking about.

and thank you NeZe wow...five years already...I saw Celia is so many concerts with Tito Puente (who was an extraordinary drummer)..all good must die...

Alexis..five languages......amazing good for you..I stopped at 3 cause I was forgetting everything....LOL..last one I tried #4 was Yiddish.....I realized then..I DIDN'T KNOW WHAT THE HELL i was saying.....lol

p.s. Lets get it straight....I don't know where fox connected to SALSA and cinco de mayo..in fact the only salsa that I know mexicans enjoy IS THE DIPPING KIND with cilantro......but I appreciate the music this morning..sure got me rolling off my bed.....LOL

Not to say that Mexico have the best Mariachi's and best soap opera's ever filmed...and some beautiful actors and actresses....

I for one am tired of the Spanish language being forced on me. From going to the store and having to hunt for the English language on a product to punching a number on the telephone or atm machine for the English language to having Spanish channels on television(which I don't watch) which I'm paying for, and I can go on and on. What Spanish speaking people speak in their homes or with friends is their business, but when in public speak English. Why should the U.S celebrate Cinco de Mayo.....It's a Mexican holiday not a U.S. Holiday. If a Mexican-American wants to celebrate it, have at it. Does Mexico celebrate July 4th in Mexico? Doubt it. Doubt they celebrate any American holiday. If you want to come to this country, learn our way of life, I shouldn't have to learn yours, or should I say your way of life shouldn't be forced on me, especially your native language. And if that makes me grumpy or cranky, well I guess I am. I too speak another language but I don't go around forcing it on people.

I saw a bumper sticker last week on a car that said "Welcome to America Now Speak English". Makes me want to go out and get one but some bone head would probably key my cars.

Well said Gray....Alexis just think before you type next time. You must get confused speaking 5 languages when you type. And as far as this being an english speaking/typing/writing blog you are the only one who has typed a blog in spanish. We (US Citizens) do not celebrate this damayo holiday although most drinkers do not need a reason to celebrate. Its probably the millions and millions of illegals that pushed for this thing to get so much media attention. They come here illegally and then breed like roaches so they can get free healthcare and be LAZY by not speaking the language.....I know, I know, not very PC.....GRASSY ASS.....

I agree with you, Candy. Salsa music is definitely not from Mexico, although Mexican people do dance to the music. Then again, they also dance to Merengue music and Cumbia music and Disco music and everything else! - LOL

I do not watch Spanish soap operas, but you are right. Some of those Spanish actors are VERY handsome!! - LOL

A while back, I started a board called "Solamente En EspaƱol" In there we discussed, among other things, the dresses used in some of the Spanish soap operas.

I believe there is a Spanish soap opera going on right now where the actresses are using the same type of dresses mentioned. Some of them are just beautiful.

Oh yeah Neze..I just saw the last one called PASSION........oh Lord it was back in the Pirates days...I enjoyed it so much..than fancy dresses; the disturbed sick pathetic Pirates that SOLD WOMEN; MEN AND CHILDREN..at auction which is where I get upset at the black folks when they want an apology for slavery WHEN SLAVERY EXISTED FOR MANY OTHERS PEOPLE as well.

Gray Wolf I am with you on that I THINK WHAT PEOPLE TALK IN THEIR HOMES;OR WITH FAMILIES WHATEVER IS O.K...I don't like when they talk it in front of others I think its rude. I TRULY BELIEVE AMERICA SHOULD BE ENGLISH SPOKEN AND STOP CREATING EVERYTHING TO ACCOMMODATE LAZY PEOPLE....however, I only object when it comes to the seniors and disabled. AS FOR TODDT.....I am good with that blog but why pick on Alexis.....HE JUST SAID BUENOS DIAS......for crying outloud IS NOT AN ENTIRE BLOWN OUT BLOG...........a simple good morning..with good intentions...wuz up my brother

Hey Candy,

You and I both know that I have far more important things to worry about in life than some reporter who speaks spanish in one sentance and then english in the next. My only point is simple.....it is very important that we all are able to communicate and if we all start speaking 10 languages that will become very difficult to do!

NeZe, I'm not sure who wrote that poem...I just know i had to learn it in second grade.

I dont watch any tv in Spanish at all. I'm fluently bilingual but always speak English, as it's my first language.

Ah, so it is a poem and not a song. It sounded good, 80s!

Come to think of it, I really don't watch much Spanish TV. Gosh, I think if I watch 15 minutes or more in a week is a lot! It's funny because my native language is Spanish.

One of my greatest accomplishments has been learning the English language from zip, zero, nada. When I came to this Country, I was 14 years old and didn't know a word of English. I then became an American Citizen and, thankfully, learned to speak, read and write the English language pretty fluently -- and I love it!!

I still like to speak, read and write in Spanish, though. I guess there are certain things that stay in one's heart and, for me, being able to speak, read or write in my native language is one of those things.

So for now, I say Buenas Noches a todos y que descansen bien.

Good night all, rest well.

Todtt, No I don't get confused speaking several languages.. All I wrote was BUENOS DIAS.. for goodness sake. As for the cinco de Mayo, In I come from Dallas, and believe it or not, the Mexicans there don't celebrate it as much as US Citizens do. So ultimately I guess "Americans" like the holiday more than the "Mexicanos"..
As for illegal immigration, I have said it over and over and believe all of you know my opinion about the subject...

Hola everyone, I have been back in Florida for almost a year now, and it is great to be back and part of the FOX 35 News Team. I am amazed of how many people remember me from when I was a National/International Reporter for Telemundo Network... For nine years I was assigned to New York and Puerto Rico... But what is even more interesting is that I met a woman from South Africa and a gentlemen from Russia who knew who I was. They remembered me from the Network show I was on, then I remembered it was such a popular show (a spanish dateline) it was sold to other countries, 25 to be exact and translated to their corresponding languages.. Before FOX 35, I was the main News Anchor at Univision 23 / Dallas, Texas. It was a great experience being a part of a team that became the number one news station in that market... Well I hope to hear from you, share your thoughts and ideas... SALUDOS A TODOS =)... Alexis
