Can we really complain with the jobs of Terry Francona and Theo Epstein? I mean the Sox won the World Series in 2004, won the division this season and currently in a tight series with the Indians for the right to face the Rockies. However, here in Boston, if you were to read the papers or listen to talk radio you'd think the Sox were the Kansas City Royals.

Francona seems to upset everyone with his theory of "I'm gonna stick with the players who got me this far," which the players but guess what...we're not players. As fans we want to see the young and exciting players but more importantly we want to see guys that oh I don't know give us the best chance to win. Even though Jacoby Ellsbury has limited experience (33 games) in the regular season let alone the postseason why should we have to deal with guys like Crisp or Drew. Neither has produced all season and Crisp was pretty bad last season as well (although we all chalked it up to his finger injury). The team has struggled offensively with Crisp and Draw at the bottom of the lineup so why not shake things up. It's not like we're calling for Kielty or Hinkse (those of you that are need to get your heads checked), but we are calling for a young and exciting player who can do no worse than Crisp or Drew.

Do you agree? Would you start Jacoby Ellsbury? If so, who would you start him in place of? Click here to sign the petition.

guggipatricus you just wrote a blog saying you're excited because you think Ellsbury will start but then you made this comment...so which is it? I think Ellsbury should start in place of Crisp and then take it from there.

I wanted Ellsbury to be on the roster tonight but NOT because of a silly petition. I think that it is always a good idea to mix the line up with hungry rookies and vets who have been to the dance before. Go Sox! This is fun!

This kid has a chance to be great. It was exciting to see him play last night. But, he did play a double into a triple which Coco would not have done because of his experience. If the score is close tonight do we want the kid out there?
Oh, yeah, red sox management is not going to listen to you or that clown on channel 25 last night who wanted to sit drew (5 rbi einstein)

I also like Cleveland Chip. They are a pretty classy, gritty team. Eric Wedge who I have had the pleasure to meet is a very nice man. But my heart is with my Sox!
BTW, how about those Pats?

Francona didn't start Ellsbury because of petitions. Francona started Ellsbury because in the amount of time any other player can get to second, Ellsbury has rounded the bases and is back in the dugout..
