This looks like the Sox of old where innings end with men left on base and the only runs scored come on solo bombs. Last night the Sox went back-to-back-to-back but that was it as Lowell, Crisp, Mirabelli and Lugo all went hitless. So far only Youkilis, Oritz and Manny have stepped up and after that this series has turned into a disaster.

The Sox starting pitching (once considered one of the top rotations in baseball) has been rocked by the Indians most notably Casey Blake and Jhonny Peralta. Are the Sox done? Would you make any lineup changes? We want to hear your thoughts and for more playoff coverage click here

One or two of the less effective Red Sox batters should have argued the calls at the plate early in the game and gotten themselves thrown out. How are they supposed to get hits when the umpire is calling balls strikes?

The usual way playoff go is that the defensive side of a team steps up. This is not so much about bad offense by the Sox as it is about the Indians' pitching staff steping up.

But they have stepped up for the last half of the season, and have had a significantly better second half record than the Red Sox.

Absolutely change the lineup. Francona had said that he's going with the guys who got him there. Are you kidding me? Ortiz, Ramirez and sometimes Youkilis, but the rest have been somedays I'll show, somedays I don't. INCONSISTENT! Get rid of Drew pleeeease.....put Kielty in. Get rid of Crisp put in Ellsbury, get rid of Lugo put in Cora. Those guys were the guys that got you where you are now too Terry and they actually produced. Ellsbury is a new face to their pitching. Put him in the leadoff spot(I guarantee you he'd get on base)put Predroia in Drew's spot and Kielty in Crisp's spot with Cora hitting last. As far as the Pitchers? What happened to Tavares? He was one of the guys who got you where you are now. Francona, stop being the do-gooder and start managing the team like you want to win.

Yeah, the umpires are horrible in this series, but the Sox look dead on that field. They are not adjusting to the pitchers and are not concentrating on the pitches being thrown at them. They look lifeless when they swing. They are not taking advantage of ANYTHING. I look at the Cleveland players, and they look alive!

Also, why are Delcarmen and Gagne even still in the park? Shouldn't they be on a plane en route to somewhere far away??

If they Sox want to win this, they better find that passion somewhere fast.

Oh, and while I'm at it, can we please send Buck and McCarver on the same plane with Delcarmen and Gagne? I can't stand those two.

Who would you replace them with, June?

Hello Everyone!

I want to get right to my point. As a Red Sox fan, I don't plan on giving up
on this team. I am not ready to throw in the towel. Hopefully, the Red Sox can show up
on Thursday that they belong in the ALCS. I expect Josh Beckett to pitch well on the mound and feel confident he can put us in a position to bring the series back to Fenway Park. If I'm manager Terry Francona, I would bench Julio Lugo and insert Alex Cora. He is a veteran presence and can replace the ice-cold Lugo. I would plug in Jacoby Ellsbury for Coco Crisp. Besides, I think he is gone after the season based on his performance. They need to play from in front. It is difficult to play from behind. Two things I did not like about Game 4 One, I did not like the way Manny Ramirez stood and admired his home run. Second, it was painful to hear Joe Buck remind Sox fans of the Aaron Boone home run. That totally took the enjoyment out of the game for me. It's unfortunate because I really do like and respect him.

According to a friend of mine, Jared (Founder of Soxspace and Red Sox Nation Candidate), "This is it, this is where we separate the diehards from the bandwagon fans. Many of you when you saw the final score go up got a sickening feeling in your stomach that the October Magic has run dry and that you beloved Boston Red Sox have failed you. I would just like to remind you that this series is a best of seven, not five. Each team has to win four games before the other does. Little did some of you out there know, that is doesn’t matter what order you win your games in, all that matters

I agree, take out Crisp and replace him with Ellsbury, he may bring some much needed life to our team. I still have faith that they can win this series too.

As far as Buck and McCarver go, Buck can stay but send the Yankee loving McCarver somewhere far, far away..

My choices would be biased, Chip. :) I guess I'd settle for anyone else.

I said in my Blog on June 2nd I was sick of Wakefield and his inconsistency. Now Terry do-nothin' sticks him in the all important Game 4 down 2-1 in games. I couldn't watch the Sox in the field. I CAN'T STAND WAKEFIELD!!!!!Lester should have thrown last night and I blogged before the game so it's not Monday Morning Griping.

The Sox are capping off what they've down all year: Lacking the big hit when needed. Sure the Indians have been pitching lights out like I said they would have to in order to shut down the Sox bats and they have.

The only thing is the Sox still have 3 games to win and if the offense can wake up and score some runs they could make short work of it and move on.

A couple Baseball Sayings:

Good Pitching Beats Good Hitting
And
Hitting is Contagious.

For all Red Sox fans out their let's hope the latter comes true.

Lafko has hit it right on the nose because as any baseball purist understands, good pitching beats good hitting. The fact of the matter is that Cleveland's pithcing has stepped up and performed while with the exception of Josh Beckect the Red Sox has not. When a team runs into good pitching, the manager has to get creative like hitting and running, bunting to help jump start the offense. Right now the Indians are making pitches and getting clutch hits and deserve to be ahead 3-1 in the series, but history shows us that this is not a guarentee that the Red Sox are finished.
